Lauris Molbert

Lauris Molbert

CEO and Chair of Board of Directors

Lauris Molbert was named TMI Hospitality’s chief executive officer and chair of the board in 2011. Previously, he served as the chief operating officer and executive vice president of Otter Tail Corporation from 1995-2010. From 1983-1995, he was a law partner at Conmy, Feste, Bossart, Hubbard & Corwin, specializing in banking law and mergers and acquisitions. Lauris is a recognized community leader and serves as chairman of Sanford Health’s Board of Trustees, board member of the University of North Dakota Foundation and Alumni Association, board member of BlackRidge Financial, Inc., and formerly served as chairman and executive committee member of the Greater Fargo-Moorhead Economic Development Corporation. He has also served as the past director and audit committee chair of Community First Bankshares, Inc. Lauris graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law and also earned degrees in finance, accounting and banking from the University of North Dakota.

 

Rick Larson

Rick Larson

President

Rick Larson has served as president of TMI Hospitality since 2006. In this role, he oversees all aspects of operations and development, as well as serving on the Board of Directors. He has also served as the chairman of the board. Previously, Rick has been the senior vice president of TMI Development, and as such, was responsible for all facets of hotel development and renovations as the company grew through the development phases of more than 400 properties across the United States. He began his career with Tharaldson Development Company in 1993 as the manager of the land acquisition and finance departments. Prior to his hospitality career, he was a teacher and coach in the Moorhead (Minn.) Public School system. He received his bachelor of science degree in education from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

 

 

Daniel Wilson, CPA

CFO, Corwin Automotive Group

Daniel Wilson has served on the TMI Hospitality board of directors since 2009. As CFO of Corwin Automotive Group, he oversees and is a partner in all of the Corwin Automotive Group and related entities’ businesses. He has been very active in several acquisitions and the growth of the company since joining the group. Prior to joining Corwin, he was a partner at Eide Bailly, managing the small business services, management services and tax departments. In addition to being a board member at TMI Hospitality, Mr. Wilson has also served as the president of the Fargo Downtown Business Association and the Fargo Country Club, and as a member on other community, civic and industry organization boards. He earned a degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.

 

Mark Smith

Mark Smith

CEO and Founder, Summit Business Advisors

As CEO and founder of Summit Business Advisors, Mark Smith helps lower middle market business owners create growth strategies, exit plans and business sale transaction strategies. Prior to establishing Summit Business Advisors, Mr. Smith enjoyed a 30 year banking career that covered a wide range of commercial banking duties and focused on helping business clients in several states and industries. His board experience includes being the founding organizer and director of Solera National Bancorp and the chairman of the board for WES Construction Company. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the National Center of Employee Ownership and the ESOP Association.

 

Micheal Levy

Michael Levy

Global COO and CFO, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing

As COO and CFO for Morgan Stanley’s real estate investing division, Michael Levy oversees the firm’s financial and operating activities for its real estate equity investments around the world. Through targeted opportunistic and core investment strategies, Morgan Stanley manages nearly $40 billion in real estate investments in 25 countries for institutional and retail investors. Mr. Levy’s responsibilities include portfolio management and capital markets as well as financial reporting, regulatory, compliance and risk management. He is chairman of the division’s valuation committee, a senior member of the investment and risk committees and a member of the Industry Real Estate Finance Advisory Council, the Urban Land Institute and the Real Estate Roundtable’s Capital Markets Committee. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business and his law degree from Brooklyn Law School.
