Lauris Molbert is the CEO and Chairman of TMI Hospitality, Inc., which is headquartered in Fargo, ND (www.tmihospitality.com). TMI Hospitality develops, manages and owns select service and extended stay hotels across the United States. With over 4,500 team members, the company currently operates more than 180 hotels in 26 states. Prior to joining TMI Hospitality, Lauris served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Otter Tail Corporation (Nasdaq: OTTR). He graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law and has an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting and banking from the University of North Dakota. He has served on numerous public, private and non-profit boards, including Sanford Health System Board of Trustees, Community First Bank Shares (Nasdaq: CFBX), BlackRidge Financial, Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation, MeritCare Health Systems, University of North Dakota Foundation and Alumni Association, and Arthur Ventures Fund.

President

Rick Larson has served as president of TMI Hospitality since 2006. In this role, he oversees all aspects of operations and development, as well as serving on the Board of Directors. He has also served as the chairman of the board. Previously, Rick has been the senior vice president of TMI Development, and as such, was responsible for all facets of hotel development and renovations as the company grew through the development phases of more than 400 properties across the United States. He began his career with Tharaldson Development Company in 1993 as the manager of the land acquisition and finance departments. Prior to his hospitality career, he was a teacher and coach in the Moorhead (Minn.) Public School system. He received his bachelor of science degree in education from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Senior Vice President of Operations

Doug Dobmeier joined the company in 1984 and has been responsible for the operating results of all hotels owned and operated by TMI Hospitality for the past 28 years. As senior vice president of operations, he is directly involved with promoting and ensuring organizational alignment across the company’s portfolio. He oversees the operation of all hotels owned and operated by TMI Hospitality. He is currently on the Country Inn & Suites Brand Advisory Council and previously served on the Residence Inn by Marriott TRIA board. He attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minn., where he studied hotel, restaurant and institutional management.

Senior Vice President of Quality and Performance Improvement

Charlie Krumwiede’s experience includes overseeing the compliance of TMI Hospitality’s portfolio with all standards related to hotel quality assurance, guest satisfaction and controllable expenditures since 1997 and he has supervised multiple facets of the organization, including the human resources program, marketing and sales and training, and hotel performance. He is a member of the Marriott Fairfield Inn Advisory Committee, as well as chair of the Marriott Fairfield Inn Operations Sub- Committee. Previously he worked as a K-12 educator for more than 25 years, as a teacher, coach, counselor and administrator. He holds masters’ degrees in psychology/counseling and educational administration from North Dakota State University, Fargo, and a master’s degree in physical education from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He also received a bachelor’s degree in English from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Chief Information Officer

Tracy Koenig is responsible for developing and managing the company’s information and communication systems and aligning the information technology entity with the company’s strategic plan, mission and vision. Before joining TMI Hospitality, he served as chief information officer and senior vice president of information technology for Ulteig Engineers, Inc., a multi-discipline engineering and land surveying firm headquartered in Fargo, N.D. Prior to that, Tracy designed and maintained LAN/WAN infrastructure and security at SEI Information Technology and was the IT manager for Intellisol International/Workface ROI. He serves as president of the North Dakota CIO Exchange, is on the board of directors of the Information Technology Council of North Dakota and is a member of the CIO Executive Roundtable of North Dakota. Tracy received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Jamestown College in Jamestown, N.D.

Robert “Butch” McConn, Jr.

General Counsel

As TMI’s General Counsel, Butch McConn supervises and develops systems for addressing the legal risks of the company and serves as the primary legal strategist for TMI Hospitality. He oversees the selection and management of outside counsel. He also oversees and manages the corporate affairs and corporate governance of the company and the company’s commercial contracts. Butch brings to TMI a unique combination of experience through the private practice of law during which he represented municipalities and small and regional businesses, and through the ownership of several companies including an Internet consulting company, a construction company and an abstract and title company. He is the past chairperson and a member of the board of directors of Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, N.D., and the Fargo Flyers. He was the lead contractor for the construction of the Freedom House, Fargo, N.D., a home constructed and presented to the surviving family of a fallen soldier. Butch earned his law degree and his business administration degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, N.D.

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO of TMI Hospitality, Lisa Helbling oversees the financial functions and performance of the organization, including direct accounting, financial reporting, financial planning, treasury, human resources, internal audit and business risk management. Prior to joining the company Lisa worked at Otter Tail Corporation in a variety of roles, including vice president of internal audit and business risk management, supervisor of accounting transactions of Otter Tail Power Company and controller of Otter Tail Energy Services. Before her time at Otter Tail Corporation, Lisa worked at Clarica Life Insurance Company as controller, financial analyst, cross functional team leader and manager of internal audit. She also worked as a CPA at Eide Helmeke & Co. Lisa is a certified public accountant and certified internal auditor. She received an accounting degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a business administration degree from North Dakota State University.

Senior Vice President of Human Resources

Sharon Connell-Rick joined the company as vice president of human resources in May 2012 and was promoted to senior vice president of human resources in March 2013. As TMI Hospitality’s human resources leader, she is responsible for compensation, benefits, employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational and leadership development, payroll and guest relations. Sharon has 15 years of experience in the field of human resources in manufacturing, banking and health care. Prior to joining TMI Hospitality, she was the vice president of human resources for Essentia Health in the west region. She has also worked as the labor relations manager and corporate human resources manager of the American Crystal Sugar Company. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and her master’s degree in business administration from North Dakota State University and received her certification as a senior professional in human resources in 2002.
