Internships

studentsFor those hospitality students looking for a great opportunity to better understand the limited service industry, TMI Hospitality offers an Internship Program, designed to expose participants to the hotel industry through hands on experience. We offer one of the best training programs in the industry. During your internship, you will be trained and rotated in several departments. Each week is carefully planned to prepare you for a department assignment.

Program Overview
Interns will receive a one-day orientation that will consist of:
• TMI Video
• Company Structure
• TMI – “Impression Maker”
• Receive and Review Employee Handbook
• Benefits
• Recognition Programs
• Bonus Programs
• Franchise Standards
• Emergency Procedures
• Americans with Disabilities Training

Throughout the commitment, time will be spent on key areas of the hotel including Front Desk, Breakfast, Housekeeping and Maintenance.

The Front Desk segment will emphasize training on guest service and the front office computer system.  At the conclusion of this rotation the intern will be able to work each shift and gain an understanding of staffing and labor hours for the desk.

The Breakfast segment will emphasize brand standards and presentation of the breakfast bar.  At the conclusion of this rotation the intern will be able to set up the breakfast bar and work as an attendant.

The Housekeeping segment will include training in cleaning a guestroom, brand standards, inventory and labor costs. At the conclusion of this rotation the intern will have an understanding of what it takes to oversee the Housekeeping Department.

The Maintenance segment includes training with the Maintenance Engineer reviewing pool and spa procedures, preventative maintenance and safety and security.  At the conclusion of this rotation the intern will understand the importance of ensuring there are preventative maintenance procedures on property.

The internship is a forty hour per week commitment. To fulfill this commitment you may be spending time in other departments once trained.
