TMI Hospitality opens Courtyard in Stafford, Virginia

Quanitco_FrontExteriorCourtyard by Marriott is rolling out its innovative lobby and room design in Stafford, Virginia. Owned and operated by TMI Hospitality, this is the newest Courtyard in the area featuring the Refreshing Business lobby environment, where guests can enjoy an open and flexible space. Along with media pods, Wi-Fi and a variety of seating zones, the redefined space is ideal for everything from pop-up meetings to social gatherings.

The 98-room Courtyard Stafford Quantico also offers a refreshing and stylish room design that helps guests stay connected, productive and comfortable. Thoughtfully planned, each room features plush bedding, a functional work space, spacious bathrooms, a separate seating area and complimentary in-room high-speed Internet.

Located at 375 Corporate Drive, the hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by North Dakota-based TMI Hospitality. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, the Courtyard Stafford Quantico offers guests convenient access to Quantico Marine Base, Marine Corps Museum and downtown Fredericksburg. Rates begin at $109 per night.

Courtyard understands business travelers, and, through extensive research, the brand continues to evolve to meet guests’ changing needs. Combining innovative technology with style and comfort, the adaptable lobby space offers options so guests can make the most of their time on the road.

“From day one, Courtyard has prided itself as a brand that listens to what business travelers want from a hotel,” said Janis Milham, vice president and global brand manager, Courtyard. “Guests want more control and choice with services and amenities that create a healthy balance between working and relaxing. The Courtyard lobby invites guests to get out of their rooms to work, socialize or be entertained, whether traveling alone or with colleagues.”

The hotel will operate under the leadership of general manager Walter Burton. “I am honored to join TMI Hospitality and Marriott in bringing this hotel to the Quantico area,” said Burton. “With the combination of a great location and the well-designed Courtyard brand, our hotel will impress our guests and allow them to eat, stay and work as they choose. From the media booths in the common area, to the Bistro, to the Media Center, there is a comfortable place in our hotel for every traveler.”

The open, bright and contemporary Courtyard hotel lobby welcomes guests with vivid contrasting colors, including blue, green, orange and red. The traditional front desk is replaced with separate welcome pedestals to create more personal and private interactions when guests check in and allow staff to show guests the lobby features and provide assistance. Flexible seating options range from a communal table in the middle of the action, to more private media booths with high-definition televisions, to a more intimate, semi-enclosed lounge area.

Dining has also been completely redesigned with The Bistro – Eat. Drink. Connect.®, offering casual, flexible seating; easier access to food and higher quality, healthier menu options for breakfast; and light evening fare, including snacks, cocktails, wine and beer so guests can unwind. Coffee lovers can also enjoy freshly brewed Starbucks coffee. The MarketTM, a 24/7 shop for snacks, beverages and sundries, is always open for late-night cravings or the toothpaste guests may have forgotten to pack.

A key component of the Courtyard lobby is the newly enhanced GoBoard® 4.0, which presents local information, maps, weather, and headline news on a 55-inch LCD touch screen. Designed with today’s busy traveler in mind, the award-winning GoBoard® features mobile integration, enabling guests to send directions from the GoBoard® directly to their smart phones. Guests can also touch the screen for immediate access to detailed flight information for local airports, popular entertainment and local event information, as well as walking directions.

Throughout the hotel, guests can connect to complimentary Wi-Fi, and there are ample electrical outlets in the lobby to power digital devices. The business library features several computer terminals, along with a printer and separate computer stations dedicated solely to printing airline boarding passes and checking flight status.

Green has been Courtyard’s signature color since Marriott launched the brand 30 years ago. Now it is even greener with the introduction of a guest recycling program for the environment. Receptacles for paper, glass, plastic and metal are conveniently located by side exits.

The four-story hotel features an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool spa, fitness center and guest laundry, and offers 704 square feet of meeting space.

To many people, an important part of the holiday season is spending time with friends and family. Unfortunately, those who have a friend or family member who is hospitalized, in a nursing home or in a treatment center during the holidays often find it difficult to be together. For nearly 30 years, TMI Hospitality has worked to meet that need by offering free hotel rooms on the night of Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve to guests who have a friend or family member who they are separated from because of health issues.

Room in the Inn provided nearly 3,000 people a free night’s stay during last year’s holiday season, and TMI Hospitality is pleased to offer this program again this year.

All TMI Hospitality hotels are participating in this program; rooms will be available as each hotel’s occupancy allows. Please contact a hotel directly and request to speak with the general manager.

We invite you to be our guest! This program is offered at all of our hotels listed on our website

The Arts Partnership and TMI Hospitality announce resident artist program

Posted in In The News | Comments Off

This summer, The Arts Partnership and TMI Hospitality will launch a resident artist program that will offer area artists an opportunity to display works at TMI’s public space in its new corporate headquarters in south Fargo.

Artists accepted into the resident artist program will display approximately one dozen works, including a piece commissioned by TMI, and receive a $1,000 stipend. They will also receive an opening reception for their exhibition and will lead educational sessions for TMI team members. Three artists will be chosen annually and local curators will be hired to select and hang the work.

The Arts Partnership will administer the artist selection process along with TMI and curators. In addition, the organization will offer artists profile coverage through its online publication “ARTSpulse.” For The Arts Partnership director Dayna Del Val, the collaboration represents another example of how the business community can promote local creative talent and receive something tangible in return.

“It’s not often we see this level of commitment to our arts community from a local business,” Del Val said. “We’re excited to be part of it and we’re looking forward to seeing what is created because of it.”

“Pursuing TMI Hospitality’s mission to impress our guests is an art,” said TMI Hospitality CEO Lauris Molbert. “It takes creativity and inspiration to provide our guests with exceptional service, and we hope that showcasing different types of art will create a dialog among our team members around the art of hospitality.”

All artists in the Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo areas are eligible to apply. For more information on the program, contact Del Val at dayna@theartspartnership.net, or to apply, visit the Arts Partnership website
